If you go to Indiana University you probably know that squirrels are kind of a big deal on campus, and if you don’t know, now you know. What you probably didn’t know is that these squirrels are just like us. They have lives, hobbies, and interests too. So next time you’re on campus or around IU apartments, and you see one of these squirrels, stop and get to know them.

1. Hugh
Hugh is the brainy one of the bunch. He’s currently majoring in Forest Management at Indiana University and is even getting his minor in Peanutology. Hugh plays the French Acorn in the school’s marching band and enjoys theater performances, like Squirrelly Boys, and attending the ballet. His all-time favorite ballet is the Nutcracker. No surprise there, Hugh.
2. Sam
Sam’s a total tom-squirrel. She plays the drums in her band, Squirrel Jam, and you can catch them at the Mapletree every Friday night. Sam’s super chill and in her free time she enjoys spending her time digging holes in the park for her acorns and for watching people trip in them. Sam also really likes playing acorn-ball with friends. She crushes it.
3. Damian
We’ve decided to go ahead and name this happy little fellow Damian the Demon Squirrel, for obvious reasons. A total bad boy, Damian, is a hard nut to crack. Other squirrels would describe Damien to be like a chestnut, hard on the outside, but if you warm it up a little, it (or he) becomes soft and sweet. Damian can be found reading best-selling novels like The Squirrel on the Train and Gone Squirrel on his favorite park bench. Or you could also find him beating up other squirrels. He has a tortured squirrel heart, and we love him for it.
4. Henri
As you can see, Henri is IU’s biggest (or littlest) fan! You can catch him before every home game pregaming with acorn beer, and when he gets tipsy, he starts the “Indiana, Our Indiana” chant. Henri goes nuts for his favorite artist Squirrlena Gomez and even has her pawtograph hanging in his tree house. Henri’s heart just wants what it wants (acorns), and he can’t seem to keep his paws to himself, (well he could but why would he want to.)
5. Charlotte
Not only is Charlotte freaking out about finals but she’s going nuts about the acorns she just lost. Charlotte is a huge party squirrel and is known to misplace things when she gets tipsy. She loves clubbing, and her favorite place to dance is 1Oak in Las Nuts. One time she even met Justin Timbertree there. When she needs a party break, she likes to just Nutflix and chill with Damian.
