UNC-Greensboro Off-Campus Housing: Top 10 Landlords

Looking for your first house or apartment can be…overwhelming, to say the least. The goal is to have as much information as you can before you sign a lease, that’s why you spend so long searching and filtering, right? One of the biggest fears a lot of students have is signing with a less than a great landlord.

That’s why we decided to do some digging to find the top 10 landlords in Greensboro. We shuffled through hundreds of reviews to find the best of the best to choose from, and to make your off-campus housing search that much easier (you’re welcome).

And to really make life easy, check out a whole bunch of UNCG off-campus housing options.

  1.    Signature Property Group (5)

Stealing first on our list is Signature Property Group. They are proud to offer student housing that is just minutes from campus. They have received multiple 5-star reviews and offer a range of living styles. Signature Property Group is known for creating a welcoming environment for students at UNCG.

  1.     Greenway at Fisher Park (4.3)

Coming in at second on our list is Greenway at Fisher Park. This building is known for being environmentally friendly, with sweet amenities like a rooftop terrace and bar, fitness club, and saltwater pool. One tenant said, “I lived in Greenway for 3 years and I am so happy that I did! I have absolutely no complaints about my living experience there. The quality of my apartment and all of the facilities were excellent. The staff there was wonderful and so helpful. Great place to live!”

Not just the tenants love this luxury building though, your friends will too! Carter said, “Friend of mine has an apartment here and loves it. I’ve stayed over several times and I like them as well. Convenient to almost everything and walking distance to anything downtown. Great view of the ball field.”

  1.    Pickering & Co (4.2)

Pickering & Co takes pride in their student housing options. They work to create spaces where students can grow academically while still living the college lifestyle. Lauren said, “Pickering & Company has managed two communities that I have lived at. They’re great to work with, quick to communicate, and fair! Highly recommend.”

Another tenant said, “Pickering has been a wonderful management company to work with! From their properties to their maintenance and policies, they truly care about their residents. I’d recommend any of their properties to my friends!”

  1.     Burkely Communities LLC (3.9)

Sliding into number four on our list is Burkely Communities. They offer a range of properties near UNCG. One tenant said, “Management and maintenance folks have been responsive to me as a tenant, and have always been friendly and helpful.”

Another tenant said, “This apartment management company is great and I highly recommend!”

  1.     Cityview Apartments (3.5)

Coming in at number five on our list are the Cityview Apartments. These luxury apartments are minutes away from the UNCG campus and offer tons of great amenities. One tenant said, “I’ve lived at CityView since June and it has been an amazing experience. The apartments are up-to-date, modern, and safe. The new staff is amazing and has gone above and beyond to provide residents with a quick turn around on questions, concerns, and maintenance!”

Many students enjoy how close this building is to the downtown area, as well as all the amenities included in rent. Nick said, “I moved to Greensboro just under a year ago and I did a lot of research into the different apartment options in the downtown area. I still stand by my decision to move here and I totally believe it’s the best option for downtown living, especially for the price. Parking, wifi, cable, and the gym are attached to rent, which would otherwise cost much more as separate fees at other apartments.”

  1.     Spartan Crossing (3.4)

At sixth place, we have Spartan Crossing. These apartments range from 1-3 bedroom apartments and are incredibly close to campus. One tenant said, “This is one of the best apartment complexes I have lived in while being in Greensboro. From the start, the office staff is very helpful and easy to work with. They were willing to help with any questions or issues I had moving in and throughout living there.”

Spartan Crossing is known for helping students and creating a space where they can academically succeed while still enjoying the college lifestyle. Toni said, “I moved in August of 2017 and have enjoyed living here since. I’ve already renewed my lease for the coming year knowing there is no other place I would rather stay. The staff try their best to help any situations and are always kind and welcoming when entering the office.”

  1.     The District at West Market (3.3)

At seventh place, we have The District at West Market. This is a student only community located within walking distance of UNCG, and all utilities are included in the rent! One tenant said, “This was by far the best apartment I’ve lived in. Quiet place to live. The numerous amenities are a plus. I enjoyed the gym and pool the most.”

Word on the street is that new management took over about a month ago and has been working to fix the place up. It’s also noted multiple times that the rent is affordable and tenants felt very safe. Jan said, “I’ve been living here for the past 4 months (Jan 2017 to April 2018) and have zero complaints to post. All amenities are free and the office has always been helpful. A new company just recently took new ownership of the building and has been fixing it up, including paint jobs and maintenance work. The doors operate on FOBs so I’ve never felt unsafe.”

  1.     Campus Crossing Apartments (3.2)

At number eight we have Campus Crossing Apartments. Campus Crossing has been Greensboro’s largest off-campus housing provider and is part of the Signature Property Group (ranked number one). One tenant said, “I love campus crossing. I am renewing my lease with campus crossing for the second time. The staff is extremely helpful. The location is great and the apartments are great for the price.”

Another tenant went on to say, “Great place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Maintenance is fast and efficient. Best affordable prices around. You can’t go wrong with Campus Crossing.”

  1.     Fidelity Realty Co (3.1)

Diving into the ninth spot on our list we have Fidelity Realty Co. They’ve been in service for more than 40 years and work to provide a great service to any of their tenants. Barbi said, “Honestly, you won’t find a better place to live. ESPECIALLY with the price, the maintenance, the staff and the overall response time.”

Another tenant said, “Fidelity has been great to us, and always responsive. Maintenance requests are received and completely extremely quickly.”

  1.  University Village (3)

Taking our 10th spot is University Village (UV). This student housing option offers fully furnished units, all utilities, and a private patio or balcony. What more could you need? One tenant notes, “I have had a wonderful experience at UV and plan to stay here for the rest of my college years.”

While UV has the approval of tons of students, they are also parent approved. Lynn said, “Our daughter has lived at University Village Apartments since 2016. The cost and the amenities were great – came furnished (not many college apartments do) and provided access to many resources (pool, computer, printer room, lounge area – clubhouse). The staff has been amazing – friendly, informative and personable (rare for college apartment offices). Would lease again (may happen, have a son in high school with plans for college).”
