Your parents called, they wanted to know how your job search is going? Okay, they didn’t call, but with the semester winding down, you should expect to get that question in the not-too-distant future. If the thought of starting your part-time job search sounds about as much fun as another year of online classes, don’t worry – we ? got ? you!
We made a list of easy part-time jobs for college students, and how to find them – check out our lists below.
Top 10 On-Campus Jobs for College Students
If you need a part-time job, the best place to start your search is on campus. There are literally so many jobs available on college campuses and, as a student, you’ll be bumped up on the hiring priority list. While you may not make as much hourly on-campus as you would at a job off-campus, on-campus jobs cut your commuting time down to almost zero (since you’re probably on-campus already anyway), give you a way to network with professors and university staff, and can count for financial aid work-study requirements.
Finding a job on-campus is super easy considering that almost every university website has a section for student employment. If you don’t believe us, go to your university’s website and search either “jobs” or “student employment” and peruse the results.
Without further adieu, here is our list of the top 10 on-campus jobs for students:
- Note Taker
- Tutor
- Receptionist
- Library Attendant
- Student Security Officer
- Teaching Assistant
- Research Assistant
- Campus Tour Guide
- Resident Advisor (RA) in Dorm
- Cafeteria Worker
Top 10 Off-Campus Jobs for College Students
If you’re not into the idea of working on-campus, do we have news for you – there are a ton of jobs off-campus as well! One of the main reasons you may choose to pick an off-campus job is that you’re (probably) going to make way more money than any role on-campus.
While finding a job on-campus may be a little bit easier since all the on-campus jobs are going to be in one place (*cough* like how College Pads has everything you need for off-campus housing), finding a job off-campus is just gonna take a little more searching and legwork on your end. By legwork, we mean walking around town looking for signs saying “We’re Hiring” or just asking local businesses if they’re accepting applications, and if they’ll look over your resume. By searching, we mean looking for jobs on sites like Indeed, Monster, and LinkedIn.
Without further adieu, here is our list of the top 10 off-campus jobs for students:
- Barista
- Bartender
- Brand Ambassador
- Cashier
- Dog Walker/Pet Sitter
- Food Delivery Service (Uber Eats/Doordash/etc)
- Intern
- Nanny
- Restaurant Host or Server
- Retail Associate
