Getting around Uptown
Located just northwest of Miami University, Uptown is a bustling spot just minutes away from campus. This is a great neighborhood for students who choose to walk to class as many of the properties are 10-15 minute walk to campus! A lot of students choose to not take their cars to college and biking is a popular option for your daily commute to campus. Another great option for not just getting to campus, but also traveling all throughout Oxford is to hop on the Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA). As you walk down the beautiful historic brick roads and tree lined streets in Uptown Oxford you’ll notice many of the beautiful homes have been restored and now house thousands of Miami Ohio students. While there are a handful of apartments in Oxford, there are a great deal of houses in Oxford, which can especially be found in Uptown.Â
Things to do in Uptown
You’ll never go hungry because charming Uptown is jam packed with the town’s most favored eateries like Bodega, Mac & Joe’s and Bagel & Deli Shop.Â
Beyond local favorites you can also grab a bit a Skyline or Chipolte. Uptown is also home to over twenty bars and nightclub options. Catch students grabbing a drink or hitting the dancefloor at places like Left Field Tavern, Skipper’s, and Brick Street. There are also plenty of grocery and convenience stores to take care of your everyday needs and the clothing local shops will keep you styling all throughout the year. Don’t forget to take part in the many events Uptown hosts throughout the year. From the summer concert series to the annual wine fest there is plenty to do!Â
While Oxford is by no means a large city, living in Uptown is a perfect choice for the student who is looking to live in a lively area and be in the center of it all. Uptown can provide you with most anything a larger city can, and is minutes away from campus and pretty much anything you want!Â
